Hi i just bought my Honda prelude Sh and i just noticed on the bottom next to the hood lever, theres a On and Off Switch....I am confused of what it does? Is it OEM parts? or maybe the previous owner installed it...Can anybody identify what it is? pictures are below! thanx Alot!

 

It's not OEM that's for sure....maybe something alarm related or safety cut-off switch (ECU or fuel pump or something).

Also could be lights....fog lights or ricer neons.

 

that switch is the same exact toggle switch my friend has in his car. its not a prelude but when its turns on it acts as the e-brake so that the lcd head unit he has can play movies while the car is moving. so if u have one of the dvd head unit things. that may be it.

or anything else electrical

 

had an identical switch on my old civic. mine was to turn my remote starter on/off

 

thats just some bs


check it on and off and see whats going on. Some aftermarket thing

 

looks like my switch for a remote start system, or maybe a valet switch for the security system that your car maybe once had... cuzz thats where they would place the switch...
you'd put switch for your fogs or whatever else in a more handy spot....i think... gud luck.

yeh thats what mine's for...

 

take it apart and follow the wires.i bet it its a valet switch or a switch for dvd.I feel sorry for the person who bought my car, I have a million swtiches like that for various things!

 

+1 for valet switch, same exact location mine is in.
