my engine broke down, need help with JDM CPU problem with JDM engine swap ??
my engine fu*k up
at track last week, so I decide to get the JDM engine(1999). my problem is that do I need to buy the JDM CPU to work with the JDM engine, or I can just use my original USM CPU, and will it hurt my performance (I think the cpu is different becasue we have more stirct emission test here)? please help. Thanks in advance !

You may have a problem running the USDM ECU because I don't believe the JDM engine uses a crank position sensor. Not positive though.
You could use you USDM ecu but you need to connect the VTEC oil pressure sender from you old engine into you new one. It still wouldn't be a very good mate though because of the compression differences. Maybe it's time you look into Hondata!
Both can be cheaped with ease. P72 is GSR and P28 is Civic EX. Your other choice would be a P30 from a Del Sol or JDM Civic. P28 doesn't have knock sensor capability.
