That could make you run lean which is very bad in many ways. It will also confuse your ECU, probably increase engine temps and cause a power loss.

For this car?

I see a lot of 5th gen preludes with body kits that smoke

OMG dude, they probably have no clue what they are doing. Do they use an A/F gauge and how are they even figuring out what their MPG is?

There are many better ways to get better MPG, mainly driving style/skill and tire pressure.

Haha, the more frontal area you have the worse MPG you will get. So at 135mph (which is rediculous, F&F FTL) with a wide body kit I am surprised you can't just watch your fuel gauge go down.

Any manual should be able to tell you the stock fuel pressure, but you need to set it the correct way.

This does make me wonder about what the ECU would do.

Reducing the fuel pressure would have no immediate closed-loop effects but there would come a point where the O2 sensor won't have any more authority to add fuel, whatever that point would be. Would it throw a code at that point, or just watch the engine melt?

What happens when you run out of gas or the fuel pump stops working?? That would be close to the same thing....

Same idea, yeah. That said both those will be over fairly quickly, and I generally get the impression that the ECU takes some amount of time to decide to throw some codes.

But I'm honestly just speculating. I have not turned my fuel pressure down until my engine stopped running

first off i think your full of **** running 176 mph and talking about how to save gas. if your doing 176 you have a good deal of work done to your car there for eating up gas no matter what you do. but honestly i dont think your car can hit 176 mph. your asking what a fpr affects are... meaning you dont know to much about your engine. there for you full of **** you prob hit 176 khm

Your Prelude does not go 176 and you do not know very much about engines. If you did have any of that someone else did it for you.

Bahahaha, you have to be kidding. That is awesomely retarded.

Are you 15 at home on your parents computer with Tokyo Drift playing on the TV and hip-hop on the radio?

leave the stock regulator on there unless you have a way to measure the air to fuel ratio and can determine where the most optimal pressure lies.
