Default Gearbox-help

Hi, I have Honda crx II, D16A8 with serial gear-box, but I need shorter gear-box.(better acceleration-for races). Could I use some of gearbox from Civic 4g??? I donīt know if gear-boxes are interchangeable. And I donīt know type of shorter gearbox.
If anybody know it please help me.

You can try to use a USDM-spec Si (L3) trans or just doing a final drive swap from that transmission (easier/cheaper). I think that may come from the 1.6i models in the non-US markets.

Maybe somebody else can help, I'm not 100% sure that your trans is the same as the JDM-spec one, so that may be an option as well.

I assume that you have the stock transmission on right now?

P.S. For your info, you may hear people refer to your engine as a DOHC ZC, that's the Japanese equivalent, they're almost exactly alike.

Yes it looks like you have a zc engine. the best would be a zc transmission with a si final drive for short gears
