different enough
so, i didn't think it would come to pass, and i'm sure i'll get roasted for bringing it up...but, the mugen si is a very different drive. i was driving by my dealership, and saw the fiji blue wing standing up, and knew then i had to drive it. the salesman was quick to let me test drive it, even though he knew almost nothing about the car (except that the shift **** had been stolen, and i would have to drive without). the exhaust note is a very healthy one, and the suspension is top notch for a "factory car." i know most of you are tired of hearing and talking about them, as was i. then i drove one, and it was great. the clutch was like pushing on a piece of paper (very light), so much so, that when i got back in my 4dr si, it felt like someone was pushing back up on the clutch. it revved like i was free revving it, and it was an overall great driving experience...but not 30,000 dollar great. if you have that kind of money laying around, which i will assume most don't since we drive civics in the first place, it is an outstanding car, looking the part of a 30,000 dollar machine. the only problem is that the price doesn't add up to any real performance gains, other than the great suspension, and bridgestones. the kdw's on the car threw rocks as i manuevered around the parking lot... and all was right with the world. so, roast on (i know you will), but if you get the chance, drive one. just being in it and experiencing the drive was worth the few minutes of bsing that i had to do to make the salesman think i might buy it. enjoy.
ive driven the car, and i loved it too. it handles better than my si coupe. but there is absolutely no difference in the clutch. i think your car needs a new one lol.
There is one on display (not with the cars for sale, but by the register like some sculpture) at Hopkins Honda in MN, and I was surprised that they didn't note any kind of dealer markup on it.
I'm still biased towards "waste of money", but if Hopkins can sell it close to the MSRP instead of putting a premium on it, at least they're honest unlike some of those charging 34-35k for one.

it was great. not in a totally different car way, and since it only had 8 miles on it, i took it pretty easy, but it was a great drive. if you like yours, you'll like the mugen version. too bad someone stole the shift ****. they're getting a new one...but it would have been nice to have. go drive one. it's fun.
yea it is nice to say you actually drove it, ya know? not just hate on it...lol. i liked it a lot. there is no dealer mark up on the one at sussex honda in NJ either. the only reason it was over msrp, is because they installed the hfp big brake kit
