Default Price for painting car on rotisory

I have a 95 si and I was told by a guy that works out of his garage for a living that paints, fiber glasses and pin strips he would paint my car for 4500. I would take the car to him striped, only thing on it is street column and suspension. When it got there he would then take suspension off and put it on his rotisory and would shave front plate holes, antenna and H symbols along with body work and paint. I kind of think its worth it and some what don't because I was told from a professional paint shop in town that they would paint my car for 4000 and if I want just the outside painted 2500-3000. My understanding is that they would have car on ground and paint outside, all the engine bay and jams but would not be painting the whole inside. I plan on keeping this car forever. What are your thoughts?

Painting using a rotisserie is more common for old cars. They usually have more body work. For example the floor pans rust, so they cut it out and weld a new one. Then they have to spray the underneath to prevent furture rust to the repair. So for an import 4k to spray the underacarrige is a bit much. alot of guys ofetn do a DIY job on the underside. Unless you have the loot, or your building some insane show car, save your cash and go all out on other mods.

4 grand is cheap as hell, consider they pretty much have to yank all the **** out there.

not sure it's worth it unless you are doing a ground up stripe race car or a really good show car.

The only way in hell i would ever consider doing a overall for that price would be doing no dent repair, no rust repair, just feather out scratches, mask most everything instead of removal and shoot, but no jambs. $1500 is way too cheap for a overall IMO. Double that then ill start to consider but even yet thats too cheap.

hey, if it's all prep up, primer up, sealed up and blocked to hell, 1500 just for base coat, clearcoat and buffing would be reasonable

None of my work is ever 1/2 ***'d. I just enjoy painting and I enjoy giving people good deals. As long as I make a few bucks, I don't mind. So if you wanna pay more, go ahead and do so but I can do just as good as any other shop for way less. Just trying to look out for everyone

Edit: Ofcourse the car would have to be stripped before I got it.
