I don't want the whole distributor cap and coil. I just need the housing and gear attached. See picture

 

junkyard if you don't want to be buying a whole new distributor. Otherwise thats the only way to buy the housing.

 

The reason I want just the housing. I replace rotor, coil and O-ring a while back. I just learned that the gear shaft appears to have a lot of play in it. I know it's designed to have slightly play. How can I fix the shaft - tight it up? possible?

the shaft and the seal inside the housing aren't serviceable to my knowledge.

 

I mechanic friend told me not to buy after market product. That's what came with the car when I bought it used. He pointed out to me that the o-ring didn't seat to well since the groove where o-ring suppose to be are wider than the OEM part. So be careful if anyone wants to replace this part. He replaced o-ring for me twice in 2 years because it leaked. That's one of the reason I want to replace just for the housing.

Thank for responding. I now have to spend more $$ for OEM part. There goes my lunch money for weeks.
