RDX's engine
Hello All, I was wondering if anyone here has or has heard of people modifying the turbocharged engine in the RDX, the (k23) right? I heard rumors of this engine being an option on the next generation TSX, So I was wondering how upgradable it is compared to say like the engine in the WRX STI or the 335i from BMW? I searched around a bit but wasn't able to find much on people modifying this engine.
Hondata has a reflash for it, you gain 20-30 whp across the entire range and it ups the rev limiter to 7200 in the sportshift mode. Haven't seen much else out for it probably because it's a 30k+ small SUV. Until more swaps happen or the engine gets used in different vehicles, probably won't be that much aftermarket development for it.
i bought it without any plans of upgrading/modifying the motor/car. I doubt Honda had plans for it to be a "performance" engine. Although rumor is floating that the new generation TSX will have an optional K23A - Turbo from the RDX. My speculation is that they may be developing a 6spd manual transmission for it in the TSX.
Again, just my speculation. As for modifications, I have nothing planned for the RDX. I just have an HKS turbo timer that i have not installed yet.

I am actually putting a k23 in my 92 prelude as we speak. i will fill you in on any upgrades i find for it. though its going to be hard, im pretty sure there are some.
The Hondata reflash program provides great results (what I've heard) but retail for it is around $500 something.. I bought my RDX with little to no intentions of upgrading it, but if the right products comes out I might change my mind..
As for now, with the fuel prices being where they are and how much fuel the RDX consumes, I, as well as my pocket, can wait.
