<< Strut Buster! (picture) >>
Hey, guys. I have a pretty low B16A CRX, sitting on stiff Eibachs.
Here is what happens when you drive around Jersey City ;-)

For now, i just put it back in and tightened. I guess I need to replace the whole rubber piece? Whats the best option here? Aftermarket or OEM? Whats the exact part name/number? (strut bearing, mount?) Need your advice! Thanks a lot!

Damn that sucks ! Looks like it backed itself out from not being on tight enough. The threads on the top of shock dont look like they are stripped. I think you can buy stock ones or polyurethane ones from ES. On my Skunk2 Sport shocks, they actually came with new bushings , so maybe you could get some from Skunk2
Hm, maybe it was loading slow due to server load.
Anyways, here is a picture that will work better:

Tyson, why do you not recommend using Energy Suspention bushings? (found it in your other post)
Am I better off with OEM rubber?
OK, after digging online here is what needed for 1990 CRX Si:
16.7102 Front Strut Rod Bushings - Honda Civic, CRX

But given the fact that i have B16A SiR motor, dont I need the one for Integra 1990 - 1993?

Ok, I looked on Energy Suspension's website ( http://www.EnergySuspension.com ) and got a few part #'s ...
Front Strut Rod Bushing set - # 16.7102 ( I think these might be bump stops, not sure )
Front Shock Upper & Lower Bushing set - # 16.8102 ( this is what I think you need )
Rear Shock Upper & Lower Bushing set - # 16.8103 ( if you want to do the rear too )
Id call them to verify part #'s for what you need. That should get you in the right direction.

I guess we posted at the same time.
16.7102 is what you need. Why would you need the ones for the Integra for ? Your using shocks made for your CRX right ? Then thats what I would buy .

ok, thats better.
youre missing something. theres no reason for that to happen.
im guessing its the bumpstop plate.

you need to check if thats there.
replacing those bushings you see at the top that are missing is trivial. you can use whatever. OEM rubber is fine.

Thanks, AlwayzSpoolin and Tyson. Yeah, i installed the metal bumpstop right after i saw what happened and used the old rubber. Now i'll swap it for #16.7102.
If i am understanding right, I'll need to realign the wheels again...
Does it look like some serious damage was made? I'd rather not open up the whole thing...

I dont think you would need an alignment ... BUt if you JUST lowered the car today and havent been for an alignment , then yes you need to do that. It doesnt look like their is any damage, but you wont know unless you take everything apart. YOu need to make sure that you have those metal bump stops on all your shocks. If you dont, what happend to that shock will happen to the rest of them. So that would be a perfect time to check for damage.
i dont think you need to realign the wheels again necessarily. but it never hurts. especially if you know youve hit a lot of potholes.
the top hat looks sawed into, but otherwise fine i gather. kind of easy part to replace from the junkyard if thats available. otherwise, just get all the bushing parts and make sure everything is assembled properly.

No joke, if it was a single pot hole see if you can get the city to pay for it. With my em2 i bent a rim on a massive pothole and I called the transportation department and got with my insurance company and they paid for a new rim all new tires, and an alignment. woot woot for Indiana and Allstate
