Default D16A6 head on a D16Z6 block... reverse mini-me questions

So I've had my vitara/tt rods D16Z6 block for some time now, and I finally got a good deal on a D16A6 head from a friend of mine.

I do not have an oil jet in the block of which I know you are supposed to remove if you're putting a vtec head on. Should I source this "plug" and reinstall it or will I not have any problems leaving it in? I have yet to examine the head to see if there is some sort of block-off there.

Secondly, I will be using an adjustable cam gear since there is a Delta 272 cam installed on this head. What timing belt will I need (stock A6, etc)?

To those that have done this - do you offer any advice?

Thank you,

Colin

i did this , and i did use the oil squirter plug in the block. i believe u need it in either the head or block and only the vtec head has it in the head i believe. just make sure its in one or the other. and i used the a6 timin belt i believe. i may have even used a dx timing belt at one point .
