Default Suspension setup

Hey guys, I'm considering this setup for my EG6 real soon. I want to buy the strut/tie bar/pillar setup first and then get the coilovers or shocks/lowering springs. Please help me out, I keep scratching my head and keep going back and forth but I need the opinion of people who know more then I do.

I'm getting a 5 piece strut bar setup which includes:
-Front Upper Strut Bar
-B Pillar
-'Weapon R' X Bar (which is in part with the C pillar bar and the Rear Upper bar)
-H Brace
-Rear Lower Tie bar

and I've been trying to decide on weather I should get coilovers or just new struts and lowering springs.
Tokico Blue for Lowering springs (because I'm low on $$$) - $300 on ebay
or Skunk2 struts with Omni power coil springs - $425 together

So, what do you guys think of this setup? I want a stiff ride with a drop of about 1.5" that wont feel like *** when I hit a bump. Roads here in Michigan are

Do you recommend anything else or anything instead? I'm LOOOWWW on funds and will stay low for quiiite a while, so I'm trying to keep my budget under $500

Thanks!

Strut bars and Tie bars alike are nice to have, but the thing that makes all the difference in the world, is having a nice suspension setup, mainly coil/strut combos. You can get yourself a decent used setup for under 500, like tokico's w/ ground controls, or some Koni yellows.

Do you recommend any sites? I've searched ebay for every reputable brand and I'm having trouble finding anything.

How are skunk2's? Just out of curiousity.
I've heard a WHOLE lot of good about koni yellows.

I'm guessing they wouldn't work too well with cheap coil springs from like advancedjdmparts.com , right?

cheers for the help!

It's a DD but I drive like an *** a lot on windy roads (at night, of course), and I plan on taking the car to the track once i've neared project completion.

Skunk2's suck big donkey *****.
2 friends have them, and hate them with a passion.
They are like trampolines. Their pure garbage.
Its not that i hate skunk2, but they should stick to other area's of products.

haha alright, so I'm def not getting the skunk2's.
My friend was considering getting Dropzone coilovers. The whole coilover set (4 piece) is only like $250 and they look shady. Heard of them?

skunk2's are a bit on the rough side... not my cup of tea... don't only search on ebay for suspension parts... i would rather spend my time in the marketplace here on honda-tech... i've heard great things about tein, koni yellow/gc combo, and f2's. f2's are pricey.. i personnally roll on sprint extremes with stock shocks... i know, i know stock shocks on such a drop is rediculous, but my car isn't bouncy at all...

What cars are the koni yellows for the 92 interchangeable with? Integra 91-94 right? Is that it?

I've looked around here for koni yellows but nothing compatible.

pdotjones, won't your stock shocks blow out?

i'm pretty sure they are blown... i wouldn't doubt it. but surprisingly, its still a comfortable ride.... if im not mistaken, all integ and eg civic suspension parts are compatible/interchangable....

haha nice
does it really still feel comfortable? How fast do you take your turns? Cuz I sometimes end up taking left turns *at stop light* going close to 40mph.
I want new coilovers and the strut bars mainly so i can take the turn about as fast or faster without having so much role.
My girlfriend bitches at me when i take turns sometimes and she flies into the drivers seat

**note: i dont drive like an *** daily and in highly populated areas, just an FYI for any flamers

i **** you not, its comfortable... i don't drive fast on the street any more, but there is a lil nice left hand turn on the freeway i take to work, and 85 has been the fastest so far..... for faster turns, i would look in to the asr subbrace and sway bar combo... and some lca's

You think that combo would work better then the 5 piece i've been thinking of?

haha my engine is so weak i have trouble getting up to 85, I got WOT and it takes like a minute

I just bought the car stock not even a month ago

i think the sway bar will be more affective than the bars. not saying that thry won't help, but just more affective. a piece of advice to give you: since you just got the car, or even if you have it for years, be patient, and do it right the first time. there is more than enough info and trial 'n' errors to feed from to make fairly wise choices whether it's suspension, engine work or buying accessories

He's talking about sway bar and sub brace, not strut bar. Sway bar also make a huge different in handling.

Ya those teins fit but one of my friend have it, and we both think the spring is too soft.

too soft? really? I always thought Tein was one of the best.

lol i should get both the sway bars and the strut bars.
what exactly is the difference though, because all i can see is that strut bars are thick chunks of metal, and sway bars are the same thing just more curvy

It is called a waste of money and a concussion bar.
No need for it on a street driven car.

Lol fair enough, you got me there.

So what WOULD be the ABSOLUTE best suspension setup?
I have this in mind (after I have reconsidered)

Front Upper
H Brace
B Pillar
C Pillar
Rear Upper
Rear Sway
----
Koni Red Struts with Omni Power OR
Koni Yellow Struts with Ground Control OR
KYB AGX with Ground Control
Tein Coilovers
----

getting more confused as time goes by

well atleast you know youre gonna hurt yourself or someone else! good job.
-Front Upper Strut Bar : good to have
-B Pillar : unless you have a harness wont do much at all
-'Weapon R' X Bar (which is in part with the C pillar bar and the Rear Upper bar) : waste of money.. and i wouldnt trust Weapon R anything
-H Brace : wont do ****!
-Rear Lower Tie bar : nice to have at higher speeds

That will depend on what type of use your car will be seeing.
There is no such thing as "best". Go with what you want and not what the H-T people want you to buy. It is your car and your money.
There is a such thing as overpriced.

honestly.. the H bar isnt going to anything but make your life hell depending on how low your car is... a good front and rear sway bar set up would be your best bet! strut bars and the tie bar.. your not gonna get much from an X bar or C-pillar bars on a daily car.

I've got tein s-tech springs with koni reds on my 98 4dr, and it rides great for daily driving. I'm in Ohio and the ride isn't bad at all, handles great in the snow.

Ride height:

I would also highly recommend this:

ASR subframe brace + ITR rear sway, best suspension upgrade I've ever done. Handles great.
