Default Daily Driving Street/Strip Wheels

Looking into getting some DURABLE Slicks/skinnies rim setup to drive daily. Im going to throw some NEW Mickey DR's on the front. Looking to do 15x8 front and like 15x3.5 rear. I want to drive on them daily because I love the look and will be somewhat functional (except rain of course). And they will be on a 350whp+ D-series. I guess if it comes to adding durability for DD i know i am goign to sacrifice wight...to an extent)

SEND PICS/LINK/FOR SALE's/INFO

MUCH APPRECIATED

THANKYOU IN ADVANCE

I don't think you should do that, and I think you're doing it for the wrong reasons. Why would you need slicks on the street? You're going to be buying tires every 5,000 miles because you like the way they look? Hmmmm.... Bias plys fold over in ANY corner at speed, and that's totally unsafe for any spirited driving, which is dangerous enough, and on top of that, there are no drag wheels that can take any kind of bump w/o tacoing. The only other reason to do this would be to street race, which I thought most people had gotten past, but there's always one person to prove you wrong...

You're doing this for the wrong reasons. Closest I would ever go to doing that is VX rear wheels and 7" wide regular wheels in the front with a drag radial, which still suck to turn on.

Cliffs notes: Don't do this please....

yea, it will have either the new style Mickey's or some nitto 555s again. BUT that doesnt matter, looking for a daily driven rim. Let me know what you all think for a rim that WILL hold up. Thanks

I'm a new school mullet head. I'm 22 yrs old and Dad has always built Vettes. I'm trying to show the closed minded dad what this lil SOHC 1.6L can do Some father son bonding @ the track when I'm running better times than his 06 C6 Vert.

WELD's are expensive! if i can find a cheap used pair that would be driveable on the street, IM IN!

i know i dont NEED them. I don't really need rims @ all. Right now im sitting stock height on 14" hubbies all around w/ 205/55/14 Nitto DR's. i WANT a WELD STYLED wheel that i can daily drive WITH skinnies in the rear and a wide front rim offset outside the fender slightly!

thanks again for everyones input. ANYONE with a knowledge base on the subject that isn't trying to SHEW me away from the look i WANT would be a lot of help!!!!

i have been in stangs and buicks with 3.5's in the front.

i do not want to take an off ramp with 3.5's in the back.

only thing i have to add to this is a light weight drag wheel, will usually be accompanied by a not saying not for highway use.

i cant see my bogarts surviving a pothole.

but if you must, put some drag lites on it like said above.

I got the weld Pro-Star 96 wheels (5 spoke design) and I run slicks on mine, but I wouldn't doubt that they would handle street use with ease, and they are pretty cheap too like $150 a wheel or so, but they are also not the lightest weight avalible.

Yeah skinnies in the back is a very very bad idea for the street. Coming back from a drag event once I forgot to pressure down my rear tires (had them at max pressure for less roll resistance). I pulled uot to pass somebody on the highway and my *** end kicked out well past 45deg! scared the **** out of me!

Weld makes quite a few options for sport compacts if you are looking for the mullet look. Most mullet style rims don't bolt up to civic's unless you have different hubs or custom rims.
If you are serious about this and don;t want to spend a hell of alot of coin you could always have a set of steelies custom made, can pick em up for under $70 ea from most builders

radials on the front- go for it.

Skinnies on the back is a very very very bad idea for daily driving bro.

I would not suggest to do that by any means.

I wouldnt use skinnies for more then a drag event... it woud be like throwing 2 donuts on the back of a car for DD.. they are only made to go 50 miles, pretty much to get your normal tire fixed.. Skinnies are built better no doubt but they still wouldnt last (pot holes and other street objects would own them...)

Save a setup like that for the track..
