Default just bought a 91 SI not starting..

yea.. i jsut bougth this 91 Si hatch from my homeboy and it was sitting in his drive way for a while.. and all it needed was a new altanator... so we changed it out and charged the battery.. not sure if we charged it enought tho.. so he was driving it and the tep gauge kept going up every time he hit the brake.. and he got back to his house it stalled and never started again.. now when we changed it we had a nepo d in there and we got one form autozone and this one said it replaces the ND and the mitsubishi one to... it had some weird thing on top of the new one like this wire going across it connected to metal points comin out of the new altanator... i dunno if that could be the problem or what but its been sittin in my yard for a cool 2 months now i put new spark plugs in and a new battery.. also the car was sittin there for a minute with no spark plugs in it.. when i tried startin it up there is a clicking noise and some of the lights on the dash come on.. so anyone who can help tell me whats wrong and what to do to fix my problem thank you for any info..

Um... Just count them. Then see what code the number corresponds to. http://www.c-speedracing.com/faq/05.php

As for it not starting, does it crank? If not, try jumpstarting it. Sounds like a batt. problem.

If it's cranking, check for four things: Timing, Spark, Fuel, and Compression. If you have all four of these ingredients, the motor will start.

ELD unit is in the main fuse box. Try resetting the battery first an see if it goes away.

If the loom of wires going to the rear lights, etc. is unplugged, you may get a ELD code......good luck.....
