Default Spare tires for 16" rims

What do you guys use as a spare for 16" rims with 205/45/16? This is for a 91 DA. Thanks

A tire with wheel...? Or did you mean what brand/make of rim? Any Rota or cheap aftermarket 16 will do. I'd buy some trashed up, curbed up, beat up, and molested but still holds air and drivable 16 for $50 or less.

I don't really understand what you mean by "spare". Can you elaborate a bit?

Sorry, guess I wasn't too specific with my question..

Well since I just got some 16" rims with 205/45/16 tires, I was wondering what you guys carry around in your car as a spare just in case one of the tires blow out.

The DA stock spare is equal to a 14" wheel so I guess I can't use my stock spares so I'm curious if you can get a 16" spare from another car...

But from 98babie's response, I guess you can just buy a cheap as 16" rim then.,,,

Your stock spare will work fine.

The reason the stock spare works fine is that, even though the diameter of the wheel on a 205/45-16 tire is two inches bigger than stock, the outer diameter of the tire is the same size as stock. So yes, your stock spare wheel and tire will work fine - assuming that you still have your stock brake calipers. If you got the bigger wheels in order to fit a big-*** aftermarket brake setup, then the stock spare wheel/tire might not fit, but other than that exception, it's fine and will work fine as a spare for your 205/45-16 tires. No need to get anything else.

hahah how ironic cuz a week after I posted this topic.. my freakin tire blow out on the freeway and I had to use the stock spare.. it fits but it sits lower than the rest .. I mean much lower to the point my mudguards rub on the ground so I couldn't drive so had to jack up the car again and removed it...

Guess I was slammed that's why.. hope that **** never happens again...
