ok guys im on lunch so excuse my typing. Ok my 94 accord dx 4cyl will downshift to second gear all by itself when going at spped up to around 70 mph... once you go over 80 it will not do it so i spend most of my time on the highway over 80. ok heres the kicker... if i pull the shifter back just enough to not light up the d4 or d3 lights it will hold its gear and shift fine, it just wont downshift for passing. any ideas would be nice. to recap it downshifts to second constantly it will go back up to its right gear then do it all over again repeatedly. and it i put the shifter between gears it will hold its gear. it does not slip. but it i put it between gears it will stay between gears for a few more it locks up the converter again.

 

i don't believe it goes into 2nd.. that'd be over or right at redline. are you sure its not going back down into 3rd?

 

yes im aure its second and you are completely correct... it does go to redline... and the vehicle starts to slow... there was a guy in a del sol that thought i was doing it on purpose... he gave me the fingers out the top of the car...
