Default VTEC question

Would connecting a switch to activate VTEC be a good idea? Can it damage anything?

Damage anything? over time, quite possibly.

Just a random idea...

Not letting the computer adjust for fuel and or oil pressure would wear things out prematurely over time don't ya think?

I'd think so.

not only that, but it's not like nitrous..... there is no need to flick it on and off. get one of those fake BOV and you'll be set.

Would the higher cam profile at lower RPM cause too much fuel in the engine?

That could cause damage.

The ECU isnt compensating for the higher cam profile.... when the high cam is on, it's actually running less fuel while on a switch. (lean condition)

Cam profile has nothing to do with the amount of fuel. It would run lean and cause damage....

1 - For some reason the ECU changes the timing map and not the fuel map
2 - For some reason the ECU changes the fuel map and not the timing map.

And since neither are happening, you end up with a motor making less power than it should, mechanically sound as there is no interference of moving parts, and a lot of wasted fuel. I would compare it to those who think its a bright idea to put B-Specific ECUs to control their D16A/Z whatever you can think of: Good idea = no, damaging = outside of wasting fuel and the possibility of washing out a cylinder, negative.
