#5 is a radius rod. its used in late 80, early 90s hondas. it keeps the lower control arm (#6/7) from moving forward/backward. it basically controls caster. its mounted in front of the control arm, and anchored to the front subframe.

in LATER model civics and integras, honda redesigned the control arm so the part that functioned previously as the radius rod is now bolted to the rear of the front control arm. which is then anchored to a big "compliance bushing". i guess some might consider it all one piece and overall "control arm". even tho it is bolted to the control arm.

well, looks like you need to buy #9/10. the balljoint looks integrated with the arm.

so then are you saying that if your caster a little out your compliance bushing is getting old and sloppy???

well i was told i needed a new ball joint and that it only came as ball joint and radius...i went to autopartsworld.com and typed in ball joint and got control arm and ball joint. so i bought it....then later i checked another website autopartswarehouse.com and they had they control arm and also a radius rod which looked exactly like the control arm and also had a ball joint but was like $50 more. also they had bushing for the radius rod just like the control arm...but are like $20 more per bushing. so i was confused on what one i really needed. also how many bushing does a radius rod have? control arm was 2 bushings per arm.
