Default is my h22a block from a prelude or an accord sir?

I was wondering is there a way to tell which car your engine came from? I got a engine from n1 concepts( good place ) that is a 96 obd1 which is pretty strange.

Regardless the engine came with a po4-014 ecu (accord sir ecu) so I am wondering if it is an accord sir engine or a prelude engine cause they listed it as a prelude engine but obviously that is not a prelude ecu name.

Is there a way to tell the difference cause also the accord sir has less horespower im guessing from the cams it has as well as the ecu maps.

Please enlighten me as I already tried searching but nothing really helpful came up. Thanks

It could very well be an accord sir ecu.. Wouldnt make much of a difference in performance wise, same redlines and fuel maps for both p13' and accord sir ecu's

well for sure its an accord sir ecu ( 37820-p0f-014) which is exactly that.

the engine code is h22a and it for sure a 96 (from the head) and obd1 from the 2 plug distributor

I thought the accord sir has less horsepower tho 190 v 200 for the prelude.

I would imagine they have similar redlines and fuel maps tho but probably a little different right?

did you get a transmission with the engine?
just because the ECU is an sir ecu doesnt mean that the engine is.
and Sir should have H23 engine code not h22. sir is h23/vtec from the factory

its for sure a h22a (96 stamp on head) defintely not pieced together (got it from n1 concepts)

And yess it is odd since its a obd1 and if its 96+1 = 97 and wtf is it doing in obd1 land

yea it came with the tranny too i didnt look at the code on it but im pretty sure its a m2a4 tranny.

the sirs had h22 i thought?

it doesnt matter if it came from an accord or lude, they dyno the same. my first swap for my accord put down 175hp, and it was for sure a lude setup as it came with too much **** attached. my second engine was from an auto accord and it also dynoed at 175hp. The h22 in my hatch also was originally from an accord, and I have run a best of 13.7 in teh 1/4 on 17s (running a 9 flat in the 1/8 mile), then later running an 8.5 in the 1/8 mile, and by my calculations it also put down about 175 hp.

I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a head swap. its not like it would look pieced together. both would be h22 heads just one newer then the other. out of curiosity what color is the valve cover?

The H23 VTEC came in the accord sports wagon and the same years as the F20B in the CF4 Accord SiR automatic and the manual CF4 is the SIR-T.... the accord sir that the H22 came in was the fifth gen body style here which started in japan in 93 and continued until 97 i believe which were all obd1 H22A's.
Here are some pictures of the body styles:

yea it was a sir accord 96 obd1 which is really odd haha.

BTW the stock header on a accord sir is a lot smaller than than the prelude one =[

Got my swap running and all

One more funny thing is with the stock pof14 ecu it runs like ***** and doesnt idle at all.

I had to use a usdm prelude ecu to get it to run well. Might be the gas I am using tho since I havent brought it to the gas station to get 91 pump gas in it yet.

yea strange how they did that since the engine is the same internally right? Or are the accord sir cams that different? Id imagine the ECU is programmed differently as well too but in my case im using a usdm 94 vtec ecu so w/e

I never see other difference on the net. (just the header and ecu). It's probably just this two things for -10hp
