Where is the bleed screw coolant system?
I have a 97 Vtec and i am looking for the coolant bleed screw. Also is there a better way of bleeding the heater core without using the hoses that go into the firewall? Thats what i have done in the past, but seeing as it is 4 deg.F outside im just trying to make sure im not wasting my time .

Its on the Front Side of the HEAD, to the left of the headers on the dizzy side. here is a pic. Look at the Radiator, now see that small hose at the top that curves and goes into the head right by the dizzy....right where the hose connects look over 2 inches ull see it.
Hope it helps, ps thats my set up from a long time ago, the pic is of the guy that head the car before me, i rebuilt it so that yellow **** on the headers, not mineeee
Thanks DA, that should help. In the pic, is it the bolt on the flat surface horizontal with the hose clamp bolt? :
I dont have acess to my service manual, seeing as I am not at home.

There is no bleed screw on a 97 GSR (VTEC). To purge the heater core, set the control to hot with the engine warm and hit high RPM. That will force fluid through the core. Make sure that your reservoir is filled to the proper level and that the radiator cap is good. The coolant system will refill as required from the reservoir.
There should not be a bleed screw for the 97. You have to simply bleed it through the radiator cap. simple, without making too much of a mess.
