Default headlights gone -- which wire powers the headlight?

My friend has a late 80's civic dx hatchback and the headlight/parking/turn signal switch broke off in his hand while using it. We want to wire up an on/off switch that turns on the headlights (excluding brights/parking) because that would be the easiest way.

There are three wires connecting to the headlight socket though, and I have no clue which wire it goes to.. I already searched and couldn't find any useful information, or I already tried the info found and it didn't help/

The car's a POS, he hardly cares about doing that, anyways, we've already tried that, and something else is wrong -- they won't light up thru the switch -- he just wants it to work. Bump for knowledgeable person to answer question, please.

Getting the things you need from a junkyard will probably cost less than getting what you need to ghetto rig it.

if it is really such a pos then why doesn't he just sell it to like me for 50 bucks? <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by SIred91 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Getting the things you need from a junkyard will probably cost less than getting what you need to ghetto rig it.</TD></TR></TABLE>
X2 on that
if you really want to ghetto rig it then the search function works just fine I know for a fact that there are wiring diagrams on this website and if you can't read the diagrams then good luck ghetto rigging it anyhow.
