Compression Results for b18C1
Couple of weeks ago I did a compression test. The results didn't come out the way I wanted it to be. This is a rebuilt 00 GSR with LS crank, rods and pistons. It was a cylinder 1-4 ::170 150 145 140:: across. Couple of months back it was about 200 + across. My car wasn't at heating tempeture at the time, but would it really make a huge difference if it did? These #'s are pretty low for a rebuilt motor isn't? Considering it was just rebuilt a couple of months back. Is my piston rings causing the low compression? It was probably sealed in properly? Any ideas and suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
Btw I did use the RED color SEARCH button, but when i was bout to reply to some of the post, it said "invalid post" so i decided to make my own -_-".

Wow those numbers are lower than my LS engine with 160k miles on it. On my jdm b18c gsr I have 210-207-215-220 which I think is very healthy.
drip a couple drops of oil in the cylinder you're testing and see if that brings it up, if so there could be something wrong. also test it under operating temp and make sure u are at WOT. be consistent with each cylinder. those #s vary too much and seems low.
