Hey guys what up. I drive a 93 civic DX and it only has two 5 1/4 inche speakers in the doors. Is there any way that I could fit some bigger speakers in the doors. Also do most people instal a box with two 6 x 9 for more mid range accompanied by a sub.
Want some more sound in my hatch but dont know what to do

Um, did you forget that metal can be cut by a saw?
It's not recommended, but you could do it. But remember that with bigger speakers usually comes bigger magnets. If you've got a speaker that requires more depth, that means that you'll need to space the driver out from the door panel to clear the window.
Stick with the proper size speaker.

Wait. What? Are we still talking about the doors?

ex/si speaker cups will bolt in to your door. these allow for a standard 6.5" speaker to bolt in. also you can fabricate your own mounting rings for larger diameter speakers. and either way will also privide a little more room for mounting depth. as far as the rear goes there is an oem honda setup for rear speakers or once again you can fabricate something. these go in the rear side panels. although if you invest in a good setup in the front doors all you really need is a good sub to finish up. rear speakers are over rated imo. also you should look into some good sound deadening as well. dynamat extreme is probably the most readily available and best bang for your buck. fcm usually has alot of good tips on making mounting plates and such, im sure he'll be through later. good luck.
The 93 DX will take a standard 6.5" speaker, the housing was designed to accept both the 4 screw mount 5.25" speaker and the 3 screw mount 6.5" speaker, [up to 3" mounting depth]
replacing the stock plastic speaker housing with a custom MDF housing will allow you to install up the a 7" speaker, [mounting depth of no more then 2.5"] and most over-sized 6.5" speakers, [mounting depth of no more then 2.75"].
Mounting depth will depend on speaker height, [part of speaker above mounting surface].
The above is without cutting metal and behind stock grill.
A 6x9 can be installed in the stock rear location, [custom speaker mounting bracket needed] but as mentioned, rear speakers are not needed if a proper front setup is done, unless you do not want to run a sub in a box.
Mid-range/mid bass drivers can be installed in the rear stock locations, even small subs, [6.5"-7"]
