clutch adjusting
I have a 93 integra b18c with a b16 cable trans.
i just put the cable tranny in and for some reason i find it hard to get into any gear. especially 3rd.
ill go in first gear and shift at 5500 and when i push the clutch to the floor and go to shift to second it still feels like the clutch is engaged and the rpms stay up around 5500 as if i just let off the gas pedal and not touched the clutch.
it did this with my old ls b18a tranny 2 weeks before the differential pin snapped.
but now it does it in the b16 trans wich was in my friends car and never had a grind in it ever.
is this a clutch issue? does it need to be adjusted.
the clutch is a integra type r clutch with a relitively new disc in it
thanks

it doesnt do it all the time but it feels like it is always sorta stuck in gear. u can feel the rpms drop or move around whant you shift it in the gears with the clutch to the floor. i dont think its the syncros because it did it in the last trans and it does it in all the gears.
the tranny fluid is topped up and the clutch looked to be in great shape.
any ideas?

I am having a very similar problem. I have a 91 integra ls and it has a stage 3 race clutch in it. I've been thinking it was the clutch the whole time but now i'm leaning more towards a transmission or syncros problem. But it started off grinding in second and third. I adjusted the clutch to disengage a little more and that seemed to fix the problem for a while. But its progressively gotten worse until now And the clutch is adjusted all the way out. I can't drive it at all. I've ordered a new clutch and I'm going to give that a shot first. But I'll have the trany out in a couple days. When I figure out what my problem is I'll write you and let you know. Maybe its the same as yours- maybe not.
Hi just wanted to let you know. . . I fixed my car and it was the clutch. Also the pilot berring was bad and may have played a role in it. But my car was doing about the same thing you're describing about your car. Now its all better. Good luck!
oh one more thing i forgot to tell you . . when I first got my clutch in I had the cable adjusted all the way down. (tight) when I started the car it wouldn't go into gear at all. so i loosened the cable quite a bit and now it shifts smooth. but just one turn the other direction and its so tight I can't get it in reverse and it grinds going into first. so maybe you just need to play with your adjustment and see how that does for you. (mine shows about an inch and a half of threads above the adjustment ****)
