Help!!!! Question about timing a B16a

Car: 93 Civic DX coupe
ECU: JDM P30 with an obd1 harness
Hey guys, was wondering when setting the timing with my setup, how you take away the computers control of timing on the electronic side??? In other words, if i try to retard the timing 2 degrees, will the computer see that and automatically adjust it back to 0??? any help/info is greatly appreciated. thanks.

yes you need to jump the service connector its the same plug for checking a cel heres a link to see plug if you dont know were it is.
