Noise when braking.
I'm getting a sort of creaking/slipping noise just as i come to a stop.
when i apply the brakes while moving slowly i don't hear anything. its just when the vehicle comes to a complete stop.
The noise is hard to describe., but its like a low pitch creaking / slipping noise.
I thought it might have something to do with the ABS but i feel nothing on the pedal when i hear the noise.
The car is an 03 s with 50K km.
Thanks for any insight.

They're the original pads. I had the vehicle in for service 3 months ago and was told the pads had lots of life left.
Maybe they pulled the wool over my eyes.
I took the front wheels off this afternoon to have a look. I thought the caliper itself might have been loose.
I'll get under there tomorrow evening and have a look at the pads.
So is this slipping noise/creak a sign of low pads? i would have thought i would have heard the squeelers by now if my brake pads were getting low.

first check pads...
-if still original at 50K miles, i would change them!
if it's not the pads, you MAY be describing the infamous "Steering Creek!"
-i only notice the steering when i'm almost at a dead stop-
also,
when i wash my car, and it sits and dries, the brakes get that "rusty" coating on them...
and when i start to move (Even with New Pads) i get a nasty "Creek"...
but i know its just the brake pads grabbing the rusty coating... which is wiped away at first stop...
this may not be the same problem as yours, but it may help explain the noise from the brakes and calipers...
good luck figuring it out
