what else will I have to convert for B16A2 swap?
I have a 94 honda del sol SOHC NON-VTEC. Swapped 1999 Honda B16A2 ODBII. I have the harness getting V-tech wires, the company thats working on my harness (RYWIRE) said I have to change my dizzy and other things on my motor. They are working with my cars stock engine harness to work with my car. what else will I have to convert to ODBI?
Thanks!
Thanks!
What you SHOULD do is get a d16z6 wire harness (thats what i used in my car when i went from z6 to B16) you will need OBD2 injector plugs to splice onto the OBD1 harness. Also its VTEC and not V-tech..... your gunna get flamed pretty hard for that.

knock sensor isnt needed. all it does is detune the ecu some.

You bought an OBD2 motor for an OBD1 car. Here is a list of what your going to need to put this motor in you car, And seeing on how you have the d16Z6 there really isnt much your going to need to buy.
1. reuse the z6 harness. The plugs are all them same for the 1.6 sohc vtec and the dohc vtec motors
2. Reuse the injectors from the z6 also. these are obd1 injector that will work for your B16
3. Reuse the ALT from the Z6 as the plugs for the obd1's and the obd2 are different.
I believe the only thing your going to need to find is a dizzy. Your going to need to go out and find any DOHC VTEC Distributor.
Also you are going to need to get your ECU chipped unless it has already been done.

if your going to use a different harness, why not use a 99 teg harness, it should have the correct plugs on both ends for a plug and play install, with you just needing to add a couple wires to the ecu(vtec, KS?, ) . that way you wouldn't have to splice as many wires and you could also use the newer components this way IE dizzy and injectors ...

hes going OBD1 thats why hes not useing a 99 teg harness. the d16z6 harness is the best harness for this type of swap hands down... it has everything it needs.

Plug end differences between OBD-I and OBD-II are only dizzy, alternator, injectors, and the B7 didn't have a knock sensor, but the A2 did - other than that, you said they're taking care of the VTEC wiring, it should all wire up. The A2 didn't have IAB's like the H22 or GSR so you need not worry about them.
You don't have to change your dizzy - assuming you have the one that came from the '99 si? you just need to use a 99/00 dizzy plug end and put that on your harness (or you can find a B16A3 dizzy and use that - though that'll cost more)
