What kind of spark plugs to use for obd1 jdm B16A engine? brand and part number ?

I don't know the part number, but I just use NGK Iridium on my B16A2. Many prefer Denso (the actual manufacturer of the factory plugs) but I couldn't get any at Checker so I went with NGK.

 

you can use the same thing as a 92-93' integra gsr if you wanted, and probably a 99-00si civic. I dont think it matters that its jdm. You can just look for the usdm ones, it'd be easier. *edit* or any b-series for that matter

 

i used the NGK iridiums... they list them on the stock hood sticker. Denso iridiums are the **** too.

 

regular ngks from any autoparts store. You wont notice any difference on a stock motor buying the expensive plugs.

What are ur opinions on bosch +4, I used them on my toyota 4x4 but it has msd and works very well. Has any one used them on stock ignition, I heard they might not work to good with weaker sparks.

They're a scam. They're three times as expensive as a standard copper core plug, they spark colder (retards detonation), and they do nothing for power or fuel economy.

 

plz for the love of god dont ever use the bosh +2,3,4 theyre a waste of money. Spend it on NGK or Denso plz. Thats my two cents

I'd say Id have to disagree, I switched out NGK's to the bosch's and my truck actually ran better, I also know a guy with a carburated chevy 454 and switched over and had to adjust the idle down becuae it was detonating better, it ran a lot better and smoother then with regualer plugs, How it does this makes some sense by detonating down into the cylinder instead of outward. I'm pretty sure it is a must to have a high output ignition to run them though. I was just wondering if any one had some experience on lower out put ignitions like hondas.

They may spark hotter than the stock whatever-the-expletive-plugs in a 454 or your truck engine, but they are a colder plug than the stock plugs for most Honda's. That's why people using nitrous injection use them, because the colder plug will further retard detonation, making a safer shot.

And as for running smoother -- ever hear of a placebo effect? I mean, unless you've run any sort of tests to show that your car runs "smoother" ... I call BS. They're really a brilliant piece of marketing. They at first glance appear to be a better product. The fact of the matter is this: If your car doesn't come stock with it, you don't need it.

Your car comes stock with an NGK single-arc copper-core plug. That's what you should use.

 

i got a b16a also i would go with NGK its the best thing to happen to my car IRIDIUM is the way to go with msd wires

NGK is the oe plug... I just get acura integra type r plugs from the local auto parts store. iridium is best but be ready to drop 35 bucks!

 

All of this talk about iridium this and +4 that makes me want to smash my head on the concrete. Seriously.

Get Ngk plugs for the EM1. The standard ones. The bosch ones suck. they made my old EF run like crap.

NGK V-Power.

I had bosch plugs at some point and the tips that the plug wires attach to kept coming off and causing misfire. The crush washers on NGKs also seem to be better, I had a couple of the bosch plugs loosen themselves over about 4 months. With NGK's that can't happen, they're one piece. If I wanted to, I could change my NGK's like 3 times a year and pay the same as one set of [insert extremely over-priced plugs here].

 

I've ran NGK PFR6G-13 plugs in my B18C5 forever and also in my wife's old B16A2, and both engines dyno'd strong and still run well with them.

Bosch sucks ******** in Honda engines

i bought NGK spark plugs and wires for less than 65 bucks brand new online. it came with the NGK Gpower plugs.

 

Buy NGK copper ones from heeltoe. They get the job done.

...x1,000. iridium if you have the skrill($35), because there is a proven difference but platinums work just fine($1.50 each)

bosch caught my friends car on fire... well, technically it wasnt the plugs, haha... BUT they are SHI*TY!!!
