blew a headgasket..
i blew my headgasket recently, drove on it for a lil bit. i need some advice on whether i should just replace the engine or repair the headgasket?
i dont wanna repair the headgasket and have a bunch of other issues come up stemming from it. but replacing the engine is expensive and im a poor college student.

i bought my car with a blown head gasket. im still driving on it, i jus change oils like mad, heh but jus replace it dude, u have a project car, why replace the entire engine for 1 minor fix, it was prolly an old one anyway, new stuff is better right ?
just replace the head gasket sure itll take some time but its worth it, because it would be more work replacing the engine, just replace the headgasket. If you lived closer i would help you do it but your way out in MI

head gasket isnt really a minor fix but there are worse things that could be done.
find a repuatble shop, or if your gonna do it yourself, buy a 6 pack and a pizza and invite your car-knowing friend over.

i drove on a bad headgasket for over a year when our mechanic screwed us over and didnt really fix it....
I learned how to do it myself... its not that hard at all... if u can follow directions u can do it.
Just get a helms and a torque wrench and be clever.
Check the head and block for warpage and assemble everything to spec and the car will be the same as before.... a blown head gasket just causes extra wear and tear depending on how bad the head gasket is... but its rare for a blown head gasket to ruin a block. just fix it and be happy.
