Ignition switch / headlight switch
About 4-5 weeks ago i was on my way to get my sister she was approx. 50 miles away from my house. Im about 5 min away from my house and i smell somthing burning and i just thought it was the factory near me or somthin. well i get about 20 min into the drive and the smell is strong wont go away and its makin me sick, all of a sudden smoke starts comin in between the stearing coloum and the cluster so i pull over track the smell and my ignition switch burned up. I have the igniton apart and i still drive it with it like it is i took the spring out of the switch so the ignition makes a connecton so it will start. So yesterday i drove for about 3 hours straight and everythings good, i get to a black spot on the highway so i hit my brights and 1-2 min later i smell that burning smell again so i shut my brights off and sure enough the switch burnt up u have to smck the switch and all that does is make the brights flash when you smack it so i dont have no brights. i do have reagular lights they still work fine. I have a fairly new alternator its less than a year old, My question is why did both of these burn up without blowing ANY fuses and why isnt anything else Burning up. is this just a quincidental thing or is somthin gettn to much juice? Anyone have a problem like this before?
The WHITE wire is mealted and solider melted off.

The white chunk of plastic a whole melted in it. and on the right side thiers a little metal thign that flips with the switch it turned black.
