Default b16a oil pump compatibility

I have a 92-95 JDM b16a that i am putting into my 2000 si which spun a rod bearing. my b16a2 oil pump has a sensor on the outside of it, and a star like ring right behind the timing pulley. the JDM b16a does not have this. will swaping the oil pump be pretty straight forward? I need to keep that sensor and the oil pumps are slightly different shape to acomodate it. I can't just move the sensor over, so the whole pump has to go. please tell me the crank is the same and the pump will just slide on. Thanks in advance for any help.

yes they are the same oil pumps. And the sensor you are speaking of is the knock sensor.

cool thanks. i just ordered the gasket set with the main seal, oil pan, oil pick up, and o rings, got the right stuff for the pump itself, should be good to go. thanks, that is good to hear the pump will fit, i was a little worried.

that's the knock sensor way down there? it looks like it's reading that star like ring, because it is pointing right at it.

Yes they are compatable, but no that's not a knock sensor, it's a Crank Position Sensor.
