Default Getting tired of your si? Why?

I've noticed a lot of people seem to not care for their si's as much as they used to, first type x and now others hoping they get crushed by drunk drivers.

Is it just that you like variety and are ready to move on to a different car? Or is it something about the si that lets you get your fill and them it loses it's appeal?

Can anyone enlighten me?

my 07 FA5 got crushed by a drunk driver i had the option to buy a different car. but i didnt i dont think i could get tired of a Si. its got everything i could ask for power, handling, good braking(not the best but good compared alot of cars in its range), and the fun to drive factor is up there. My buddy has an EVO 9 i was driving around last night alot of fun but that just equals out to trouble with a car like that but when i got back in my Si; i said i was glad i bought another Si another major thing is reliability. That evo is a 06 he put 28k miles on it already too many problems the infamous evo 5th gear grind and transfer case failing was present. my FA5 had zero problems @ 13k when it got hit.
all and all im glad i bought a FG2 to replace my FA5

I've had mine now for almost a year and i'm not even close to getting rid of it. If I start to get tired of it, i'll put some new parts on and call it good!!!

I love my si, but i wish it was faster. I would like to run a low boost custom turbo set up so i don't have to spend thousands on turbo kits. Guess we all gotta wait for tuning though right?

Agreed. I've had mine for about a year as well.....i love everything about the car and the more i upgrade it...the more i like it. I have had thoughts of selling it to get something different, but thats only because i have that problem of holding on to daily drivers for more than a few years lol.

I love my Si I cant wait to drive it every day it the most fun car I ever had second would be my 79 Z28 wich I sold to a older friend of mine and it still sits in a garage from the time I sold it in 96. I do like other cars but for the money you cant bet the latest si's. I am considering buying a Pontiac G8. I wont be trading my si in for one, I will wait until I can have both $$ wise that is. I like my si and I will have it for years to come. me and si

I was just thinking the same thing today. fiji blue is a color that wont go out of style (timeless) IMO but all the colors for the si looks good, I just like fiji the best

how could you want to dump it? in my opinion its right in the middle of a track car and a daily driver car, and to me that is what most people want theses days. and you definetly get your moneys worth for appereance and performance. si all the way

this is my 3rd different si and this gen is by far the best...i waver all the time, but i think it has to do with the whole "grass is greener on the other side" issue we all face...

To be honest, as much as I love the car, I'm growing leery of all the pops and rattles, very un-smooth transmission and overall lack of refinement on the materials used for the interior. I suppose my EX-L accord has spoiled me somewhat with a good interior.

I like my FG2, and am not sick of it at all (had it for a year now). I just don't like how long it is taking for a tuning option (hondata), and Koni's. There's also the X-intake, which I ordered on Nov 12th, but have yet to receive. The aftermaket support for our cars just seem kinda shady to me when compared to other hondas. The FG2 is a great car out-of-the-box though. I still think the EM1 was the best Si ever made and a timeless milestone for the Civic (for us in the USA). Everytime I see one I just stare... I may be getting back into one of them again soon though throttle cable.

Since you've owned a 94 Si (I had a 94 EX Coupe) and a 00 Si (I had a 99), I'm really interested in hearing your thoughts regarding those two compared to your current Si. I continue to read up on the new Si's and keep thinking about the Si Sedan.

I've only had a couple of chances to drive the current Si, and only for a few miles each time. The design and styling are not a problem; the dash and seating/steering positions are fine. How do you compare the ride, the drivability, the comfort? Is the new Si too heavy? One thing I loved about my old '94 was how simple and lightweight it was, even though it was slightly heavier than the hatches.

the only thing that gets me tired of driving my si is the fact that i want to vtak the **** out of it but i can't because i have a raceheader + skunk2 exhaust and is damn LOUD. i got a ticket for the exhaust but that i my fault for the choice of mods lol.

ps. hondata made it even more tempting

i've had my Si for a year and half now. still loving every minute. i'm becoming a better driver too..

had an rx8 before this.

wow, is the skunk2 exhaust THAT loud? hmm...i want loud , but does it make it so you have to turn up music a ton to hear it and is it hard to carry on cell phone conversations when you're driving on the freeway?

thanks

Well I have owned a 99 Si and compared to my 06. There is really no comparison at all. Unlike the 99, on the 06 and up there is tons more attention to making this model a sports oriented model.

my fg2 has only 4k on her, but i still get excited everytime i get to drive it, just like i did when it was brand new. when it is clean the fiji blue pearl is beautiful to look at. to tell you the truth, i had never seen a fiji blue car before i purchased mine. i just went on what i saw in pics on the internet. then when i finally got to see my car, i fell in love instantly. the color is ten times better than i thought itd be. i get complimented on my car at least twice a day. a girl, admittedly a chevy fan, said she doesnt care for imports, but my car is really nice, especially the color. ive never been one for caring what others think, but it feels good to be complimented. WOW! snap out of it! sorry went off topic a little. lol. anyway, as far as rattles and that stuff go, i realize that this is still only a civic. compared to an sti, srt-4 or mazda3, the civic is very quiet. and i think the interior material quality is excellent (except for the floormats). my mom has an '06 accord ex, and the interior quality in my fg2 is much better. i love my car, and i dont see myself getting sick of it anytime soon.
