Default Speedometer went crazy - Odometer works fine

Hello,
The speedometer needle went berserk on me. One day it bounced back and forth, then it went clockwise all the way around and stopped right under the 0mph needle. It's been there ever since.

Odometer works fine. Car is the bone stock 1993 CX Hatch in my sig.

I searched the forum and the solution about pressing the mainteinance button a few times is not an option for me, since EGs don't have that button. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

-Walter

either your speedometer is going out or your VSS. i would suggest the VSS being that they are alittle cheper than the speedometer.

Thanks for the advice.

I guess VSS stands for "Vehicle Speed Sensor"?

I'll search a little more on VSS to learn where it is and how to get to it. In the mean time, any other thoughts besides VSS?

Thanks,

-Walter
