Whats good about the b17a1?
im getting a 93 integra gsr, all original including motor. I've already search and the only thing that came up is that the "This engine has near perfect rod ratio...you can rev this baby til your head spins..." Is that the only thing good about the engine or is there something else that im missing. Also why is that a stock 93 gsr can beat a 95 gsr, is it just cuz difference in weight. thanks for any info in advance!

Well lets see, the b17 is basically a b16 with a little more stroke to it which gives it that "little" extra displacement. The compression ratio on the b17 is a low 9.7:1 compared to the lowest b16 which is 10.2:1. The main reason the 93 GSR is a bit quicker is mainly because of the YS1 b16 tranny that the b17 is hooked on to. The YS1 b16 tranny is extremely short compared to the GSR tranny which gives it a little more accel.
GUARANTEED if you put the b18c(gsr) in that car with the same tranny(YS1 b16), the car will be MUCH faster. Good luck.
