Default FINALLY! H23 VTEC IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

well, after alot of car problems, financial trouble and so on and so on and so on and....yeah, ive finally got an h23 vtec almost in my car to replace my blown h22a. ill be running it with the h22a tranny and my 96 obd2 p13. i had an h22a with a bogging/no vtec problem for a year and a half and it decided to spin a bearing on me a few weeks ago. its been a long time since ive had a proper running car so its pretty exciting. we went from having 3 cars to no cars at my home in about a month here are some photos of my accord...i dont have many good ones.

That's a nice looking engine. How much would something like that run for, is it new or rebuilt? Also where did you get it--locally or online???

Blue Top H23A compared to your H22A1 USDM? I'd say you'd gain about 10-15 hp and about 15 ft lbs of torque

Stock peak power RPM will be a lil less then the usual H22A 6900 RPM, Shift at 7K no reason to take it up any higher...

thanks. the pic is not the actual motor, but mine looks exactly the same. its from a 2000 jdm accord wagon. i got it for the same price as the obd2 h22s are going for so i figured, why not? only thing is, normally the vtec on this motor would kick in at 4900...except they only come as automatics so i have to use my p13 and vtec will kick in at 5200. ill just have to rev a little higher to stay in vtec until i can afford to change some things.

Welcome to the forum, get some knowledge before you go making an *** of yourself. This is not a hybrid. The H23 VTEC is an OEM motor that was available in the 6th gen wagons in Japan
