Default Header I finished for a buddy.

Its been a while since I have posted anything so I figured I would post a few pics of a header I made for a buddy. The header is made of stainless and uses a Burns collector. Enjoy

This will be a race only header it will be bolted to the car as you see it.
The collector was designed by Burns after giving them some information on the build this what they came up with.
I also built the original header that this will replace. The last time the car hit the dyno it was able to put down 258whp. The owner vows he will not stop until he is at or very close to 270. We shall see.

Here is a pic of the motor with the original header. Although the new header looks very similar the lengths and collector are a bit different.
As far as the specs I will include what I know.
B20 vtec
14:1 vertical gas ported weiscos
CNC ported head with stock sized stainless valves
Skunk pro 3s
TWM itbs

look at any competitive superstocker/stocker and the collector will be just like this one pictured.

it looks like the old header is a step header. is the one you made also?

Wondering if there is any calculations/formula for diameter and lengths, or is it built by trial and error. Also if you dont mind me asking, how much did all of the materials cost you?

^^ There is a formula of calculating runner diameter and lenght. Also collector choke size and lenght.

When I built the fist header I used my best judgement as to what size tubing to use and length. The new header was made to the specifications that Burns provided to us. They were able to tell us what tubing size to use and when to step the runner and what total length the runner should be. The first header was very close so I guess I didnt do too bad the first time around.
