simple question.

is the A3 head the same as the A2 head, like the B16 head and B18c5 are the same cast besides the internals and minor port.

basically i want to know if i can build the A3 to perform as well as the A2 and bolt it to a k24 block since i can get the head and block cheaper seperate than together and also because i plan on doin a full re-build.

the a3 utilizes vtec-e (same vtec as the D series SOHC but with VTC and the a2 utilizes the full Vtec system.)
You wont have any gains if you put the A3 head on a k24 bottom end because of the "lack" of "vtec". Sorry man but there is no cheap mans way around it. Read ma sig.

 

i understand that completely, i only stated the cheap part because i plan on taking my time on this one and going to whatever extremes neccassary with this motor but if i could save some loot and end up with almost the same thing then why not? right... lol

so, i jus got to find an A2 head im im in business.
