Default Saturday morning at Summit

I forget who I was standing next to, but I heard this on Saturday morning, and was looking around in the sky to see what it was....

From msnbc.com:

WASHINGTON, July 1 — Air Force jets scrambled twice over the weekend to intercept small airplanes making what turned out to be at least three harmless intrusions into the airspace over Camp David while President Bush was at the Maryland mountain retreat.

The most dramatic incident occurred at about 10 a.m. Saturday when two fighters thundered in low circles above Winchester, Va. — a city of 25,000 about 60 miles south of Camp David — until an errant, four-seat Beech A-23 that had failed to heed radio calls landed.

“There was a lot of concern when they saw the F-16s flying over Winchester” said Serena Manuel, executive director and manager of Winchester Regional Airport. “There were a lot of people calling about it.”

I remember seeing a small plane in the sky, no fighter jets though.

I didn't see it either, but I heard it. Fighters make a very different sound than normal planes, and I knew that one was close, I just couldn't find it in the sky. That is the other problem with fighters, if you look to where the sound is coming from, you won't see them. The sound lags way behind because they are so damn fast.

That was me Matt. We were talking about something (possibly Brinson and the naked guy) and I stopped mid sentence when I heard the rumble but I never saw the plane. I knew what it was though.
