Default lightweight battery

looking into purchasing a new battery soon. Braille Autos batteries have stuck my interest since they have weights of 6, 11.5, 15, and 21lbs at what seems to be a good price. this is my daily driven, even in cold winters, car and im looking for a lightweight battery that'll perform both on the street and on the course. which weight would be best to get? any feedback on the Braille batteries, along with any other brands, would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

Braille battery = blingtasticular for this application....

Save some money and get a Hawker Odyessy PC680; a 5 lb difference is not worth an extra $65+ dollars for a daily driver.... As long as it's more durable and lighter than stock that's all you really need.

However, for a dedicated race or track car I would go with the lightest I could afford or be allowed to run...

I have an Odyssey PC545 in my track car, but I probably wouldn't use it for a DD. I'd go with the PC680.

The braille auto's are rebadged deka power sport batteries. They're available at your local napa for $60.

If you live in an area where it gets cold in winter (like MD), you might want to go with the bigger Hawker Odyssey PC925T. That's what I have in one of my cars.

The Hawker factory website is here.

I've found that the best prices on Odyssey batteries are at Portable Power Systems. They were very helpful when I bought mine, too (telling me that the T versions have the nice terminals already on them, and the MJ are metal jacket versions designed for cars where the battery is located near exhausts and other sources of heat, not needed for our cars).

i have the odyssey 680 and the car is stored for the winter. the beauty part of it is.. even in 20 degree temps and not starting it daily it will still turn over no problem. now tomorrow its supposed to be a low of 0.. so i might take it out and bring it inside. storage life of drycell batteries is great as well!

would you recommend using the 680mjt if you move the battery to the core support or does it not get hot enough?

Ive been using this one for 8 months now without a problem. Its been drained down twice by accident and its still going strong.

I bought mine from here -> http://www.bigcrank.com/motorc...ETX14

But now I found out that my local Napa has them for the same price once you add in shipping charges.
