Default 215/50/15's on stock rims?

I want to run Dunlop SP sport 5000 215/50/15's on '95 stock GSR rims. Anyone else heard of this or done this? Would it rub with a 1.5" drop?

I did a search, and the only thread I found was in the Type-R forum.

Thanks ahead of time.

it will rub when turning the wheel all the way or over slight bumps...plus stock rims are 6 inches wide..it 215 will fit..but it's too wide...205-50-15 is much better

215 is pushing it. Other than the cosmetic effect(wheel sunken into a tire), in general only a 10mm over width is recommended. Ie: 205 on a 195 factory equipped piece.

Forget about it...

Under a hard turn full lock, my 205 Ecsta 712s rub. AutoX proven... don't try it on the street.

Right now it's just stock, I'm planning on going with Koni Yellows and Eibach Sportlines.

Thanks for the input everyone!

that's interesting, going by that one comparison awhile back of contact patch width on the 712's vs. Azenis, my tires' contact patch is wider than the 712's... my tires don't rub at all anywhere, ever.

my 205/50/15 azenis are about 217mm wide....way more than my old 205/50/15 Avs intermediates and with both tires i never rub unless im at full complete lock during a hard hard u-turn...and thats only happened once and my car is lowered about 2". I dont know why your tires rub.
