I really need some expert advice on suspension. shocks, struts, springs, upper m kit
Hello to everyone. NOOOB here.....
I came here because I need your expert advice on buying 2 struts, 2 shocks, springs, upper mount kits. I currently have 1 front strut blown, and 1 rear shock blown according to my mechanic. I new something was wrong when I was pulling out of my drive way, and heard load popping noises coming from the front. When I got out of my car I also noticed that my rear wheel was right up against the wheel well. So now I have to replace my suspension. I bought my 03 civic si and it came with koni yellows on the back, and they are adjustable, but the front was not. That is all I know. My mechanic told me this. I`m a noob to after market stuff. I bought the civic because it is a beutiful car. In case anyone wants to know why someone would buy a car with after market parts....
anyway, I do not race, and I use my car as a daily driver. I dont mind dropping the car a bit, but if this takes away from the comfort zone? THen I wont do it. So I would like get the best advice on what parts to get, and where is a good place to get a good deal?

An 03 Civic does not have "shocks" in the same way a double wishbone based car does. It has struts, front and back, as they are structural suspension pieces.
Koni Yellows are good. I can't understand how you'd blow one, though it should still be covered by Koni's warranty.
Any any lowering will require a bump in spring rates, to prevent bottoming. Stiffer springs means a worse ride quality. Thats just how it is, unfortunately.
My advice, remove and check the "blown" rear Koni. Get it serviced if it needs it. Replace the fronts to match. Use the stock springs, if ride quality if your primary concern. Replace with lowering springs if you're willing to trade some ride quality for height.
Whats an "upper mount kits"? If you mean camber plates, then you don't really need them, unless you plan to race and want more camber. If you aren't racing, its just yet another thing that can break (where as the stock piece is without a sliding plate, and should never wear out, slip, or otherwise require you to ever think about them).

The struts are un-fixable according to the mechanic. I tried the warranty thing, but koni wont replace the strut because im not the original purchaser, and I don`t have the reciept for it. I bought the car with the koni`s all ready on the car. From what I understand from what the mechanic said is that that car should of been raised in the city for city driving. But I wasnt aware of this until he told me and when I did some research. Now im trying to find a suspension becasue my car has been sitting for a few days. Im trying to find a good price online to order.
