First off, this is my first all motor car. Ive dealt with turbo for a while now and i dont know the ins and outs of the NA world yet. Please dont jump on me because i did search and i couldnt find my answers.
I just put the cams and gears in as the last ones were stolen before i bought the car. The Intake and Exhaust gears are set @ 0 and 0. When i start the car it idles fine and revs fine. When i take it for a ride and come to a stop it dies. Is this a possible vacuum issue or a cam timing issue?

Usually this can be fixed by adding some timing into the decel area of the timing map.
You might also want to try adding some IACV duty cycle to keep the RPMs up a bit.

c'mon now. ive got more common sense than most people on here and have been messing with these cars for some years now. i understand what he said but my question was wether or not to leave the intake alone or not...
now that that is out of the way, should i do the intake +2 and exhaust -2?

dont just go jumping into adjusting cam gears without making sure there is good clearanc,e (expecially ) when vtec is engaging, u could end up with bent valves and be SOL

Please read my reply. ADVANCE the EX. Leave the IN alone. Advance is not the same as Retard. Or just just do what you were going to do anyway.

This will definitely help as well. It will get you by until you can get it tuned.

I know its old but maybe i can still help. +3* intake and +4* exhaust are what skunk2 recommends as Quick settings
