A few weeks ago the transmission in my car went, luckily my girlfriend was down to visit for the night so I drove her car back to her school, then drove it for a few days while I sourced parts. A member on here doug118, PM'ed me saying he had a rebuilt gsr, I was siked, I haggled down to $650 for it, and the deal was made. Bought the tranny next day, went in the day after, no issues at first, just a slight vibration that I thought was maybe the clutch breaking in.

One month later, the car will not accept 4th gear at all, 5th is starting to pop back out at me once in awhile, car grinds 3rd and 5th, every time I step on the gas my shift **** moves back about an inch or two as if the car is trying to throw out every gear possible. It also makes a terrible sound just driving around town, almost metal on metal just sounding like the gears want to die, oh and it also leaks fluid.

Does this sound like a rebuilt tranny to you?

I started PMing and IMing Doug on Thursday and didnt get any response till Sunday. Normally I would think maybe he is away or not at his computer, but his sidekick is linked directly to AIM, so unless he was without a phone, which I doubt he was, then he wouldnt get my messages. Even so, he should have responded immediately just to see what was up, I am not an angry guy, so if he talked to me I would have been cool, but since he waited days, I got steamed.

He defended himself saying he didnt know, and had he did he wouldnt have sold it. I believed him then I asked myself this. Why wouldnt he take a money order instead of cash? Then it dawned on me, if I had issued a money order and then the tranny did that ****, I would have put a stop damn fast on that money because then I would have known I was getting hosed. The fact that he still hasnt updated me is leading me to believe he is just a scammer and I've been taken for $650.

I have bought and sold to many people on here, many can vouch for me, Tony Ho, Amy Del Sol, Dirty Sol, Jon Dunn, John Brandt, Allmotordan just to name a few. I am here to have fun with my car and when **** like this happens it really discourages me and just makes me want to get rid of my ride and out of this scene because of scamming bullshit. Work for a living, dont screw others over to make a quick buck, I work over 40 hours a week just to try to scrape by, so it really upsets me when people do **** like this.

This is it Doug, I tried to talk with you, you didnt respond to my IM's, PM's, and my phone calls. I dont really know what to do from here, I put my trust in you and I got screwed over big time.

Now where is Jon Dunn? I need him to build me a legit tranny with what little money I now have thanks to Doug

 

Sorry to say, but honestly, If you put the trans in, it was fine for a month, and then you complain that it starts having problems. I would blame that on you. What type of fluid were you using?

Honda MTF, I also installed a new clutch kit, resurfaced flywheel, new axles, and main seal.

I wasnt screwing around with this cause I wanted it to last, now the thing is falling apart

 

If you think you have a strong case take it to the next level and file for a trial in civil court and let others hear your story

Really? I ordered up 3 quarts of the honda MTF, which I think most of it has leaked out

I dunno amy I got a **** tranny and empty pockets, next week we are ripping apart the 2 LS trannys I have in hope of making one good one, then the gsr comes out and I'll start sourcing parts for a LEGIT rebuild. I already spoke to Jon Dunn today, I think he is vouchable since he built the race car with about 700whp

See the thing is, I dont even know what went wrong, hopefully when we have it out I can tear it open and see what the hell is going on, there will be pics, no worries, I have a bad feeling its gonna look catastrophic.

Kiss my *** Doug, kiss my ******* ***. The tranny dropped 5th gear on the way to my friends school today, and 3rd gear is starting to go. I hate scamming pieces of garbage like you, because you ruin what I consider a hobby, what I spend my hard earned money on.

The part that I find funny is, you didnt bother to say "sorry I sold you a **** transmission", you just want me to add you to the scammers list. Its ok, lesson learned like I said before, and I dont want your money cause you would just screw someone else over to refund me, and I dont want that.

Actually what I want you to do is give me your buddies number, so then I can do a reverse search and find out his address same way I found yours, then I will deal with him.

 

I know neiter person in this arguement over parts but want to put something out there.

No matter what type of car you own whether it's a Honda/Subaru/Nissan....etc. There will always be scammers, theives...etc so I would not give up on the Honda scene if it's been your hobby this long.

To the whole situation......

Doug, you should have stepped up and taken responsibility for your tranny that you sold to Cain reguardless of what happened to it. 1 month of driving highway miles attached to a stock LS motor is not going to create the problems he's having with this tranny. I got hit dead square in the pass door by a GMC 3500 cargo van traveling at 60 mph and it litterally drove the pass side axle into the transmission but I was still able to drive it for 3 weeks having it spit out gears and ultimately the 2 shafts mated themselves together locking 3-4-5 gears together and that was the demise of that transmission.

Cain, you possibly jumped the gun on giving him some time to reply to your concerns prior to calling him out on here and basically saying "expletive it" and deeming him a scammer.

But this is intervention just from what I've read so I'm not sure how clear anybody other than Doug and Cain are on just what was said/exchanged.

All I'm saying is this could have been resolved alot differently than this and selling off your Hatch will not solve anthing other than getting into another community to run into more scammers.

I contacted him numerous times starting one thursday and didnt get a reply till sunday, I called, sent IM's to his sidekick, so his excuse "i dont live on ht" doesnt stand for anything right now.

When he did get to me he said he was going to try contacting the kid and then went MIA for another week or so, what am I supposed to think? Hes out beating the streets trying to find this kid?

 

it took me 3 months to get that tranny and a block off of him after contacting him every day. the kid obviously didn't call me back or answers my calls anymore because he doesn't want to deal with it. I could have just ignored all this and acted like an actual scammer but I'm not a scammer so I appoligized, said what I had to say, and that was that. you said you don't want money back and lesson learned so why do you want the other kids number or address? I still have no clue where the hell this is going?


also how do you find out my address from my cell phone number? the phones not in my name and I don't have a house phone so I'm not sure how that's possible
