Default Help me find my first car?

Hey guys im new here im 17 and lookin to buy a Civic and make it a show car and my regular driving car. I dont know alot about engines yet (if you know of a good site to learn more about them that would be great) so i wanted to find a car that has some engine work done on it. I found this guy who is selling his car and i was wondering if its a good car and price. So if you could let me know what you think of it that would be great thanx.

18 in rims are a bit excessive for a honda. but ask the guy if hes got legit paperwork on the b16, you dont want a stolen or bootlegged motor in your car. sound system seems pretty sweet though.

yea i agree with what he said, 8000 for that is way to much, u can buy a real si for that price, or ill sell u a 96 hatch with full gsr leathers, full suspension, 99 front end, h22a4 with stroker kit to 2.4. but nah for real, 8 is way to much for that. i would pay about 5000 for it tops

If thats what youre into then go for it. Make sure it all checks out before you buy it. Make sure they bodykit was done right too. Be prepared to get flamed on here for that bodykit, but i cant say anything because i have the same kit.

The black one looks to be a nice car.

Lose the larger rims, repaint the calipers black and sell the amps (they are'nt that good).

Tell him to keep the rims and offer him $6500. This is a bad time of year to sell a car.

if you look at the third picture posted with the engine, you'll notice the passenger side head light is missing a tab and that the metal mount has been damaged previously.

Hey guys i just wanted to say thanx for helping me, and dont worry about the looks of the car. Im goin to end up changing the looks of the car anyway im just lookin for a car with a good engine and maybe a bodykit on it.

I also found this car http://madison.craigslist.org/car/541799843.html he does not give a price so if you could tell me how much it should be that would be great.

P.S. What do you guys mean by a "Real SI"?

Out of all of the cars you have found, I personally dont like them. The first one is the best looking one that you have picked imo. Although on this car you may want to check it out pretty good....The guy has swapped the cluster so most likely it is not showing the actual mileage of the car. If you buy this car, check the title to see what the odometer reading was when the seller bought the car. If the mileage on the title is higher than the mileage on the odometer I would not buy the car!

What people mean by "real Si" is that Honda produced the Civic Si from 99-00. Lots of people buy parts from the Si and convert their car to look like an Si. Most of these conversions still do not have every item that came on the Si so they are not true conversions.

lol that car is not a si. it has a D series motor in it... real si's in that year have factory b16's. that car has si rims.... lol dude buy a 92-95 si for like less than 3 and put a swap.
