Need Help. New to H.T. Blue smoke from exhaust and knocking in motor
I just bought a 90 civic dx hatch. I got it from a radiator shop as a lien sale for $700. When i first test drove it, it had a knocking on the motor. But it was still drivable. $700 was a good deal, so i thought, because the body and interior is in mint condition. Very clean in and out. So i bought the car and took it home. I later inspected it closer and there is blue smoke from the exhaust. Im guessing its burning oil??? Then The knocking is louder, and the car doesn't have any compression. Any advice to what it is or what to fix or how much it is going to cost? Im a better off buying d15b?? Hopefully i can get some advice soon. Thanks
Oh yea. The previous owner took it in to repair the radiator and never picked up the car. That's why it was a lien sale. Do you think because the radiator had problems, that the car could've gotten hot or over heated. And that could've bent my rods or whatevers in my head???

The way you make it sound Id be looking at a swap If I was you. And what do you mean it doesn't have any compression? If your driving it around Im sure you have some compression.

Bad piston rings can cause low compression situations, also will cause you to burn oil quickly....you're not gonna get around opening up the motor....rebuild this motor and save the cash of buying another....but dont let that persuade you into not buying another d15b, they are fairly cheap motors....youre gonna either open up the current motor you've got rebuild it, or pay nearly 250local pickup-550shipped to just drop in a used/warrantied motor....its your call just some input.
