im havin a problem in my 95 del sol si, previous owner blew the z6 that was in it so i swapped the head on to a b7 block that i had. the car will start and run ok with a little surge in the idle, but what concerns me is the CEL NEVER comes on. it doesnt come on with the key on before startup nor when i bridge the connection. the light is good as i swapped it out with the oil pressure light which was known good because it lit up. all my fuses are good and i have checked them at least twice. could i have missed a ground somewhere? the only wiring i have messed with is doors ( removed a lambo door kit that was FUGLY, and wich was wired as a fire hazard) and the engine wiring just plugging and bolting leads on.. is there any in line fuses that might go to the CEL or is my ECU bad.. i have a P06 ecu but i dont think it will work with my setup... any help is greatly appreciated.

 

oops once i read the post it sounded like i was runnin the p06 but currently in the car is the stock p28... thanks

plug in the P06 and see if that will give you a CEL.

 

will the p06 run that motor?

 

yes the p06 will definitly run the mini me u have, definitly definitly

 

u will have no vtec and the redline will be lower but its still a 16 valve engine just 1.5 wich is what the po6 ran

 

allright if this computer fixes my problem, what am i going to have to do to get vtec? chip the ecu? im gonna swap ecus tonight and ill post what happens

 

get a new p28, its easier and cheaper than chipping a po6
