There is a bleeder valve (like a brake bleeder) on the thermostat housing i believe.

A lot of people dont know this....but the whole DIY procedure is in your owner's manual.

Yes, it involves opening up the cap. What's the hangup? Did you superglue your cap or something?

Considered taking it somewhere? May be cheaper than throwing parts at it. BTW, do you have a 50/50 coolant/water mix?

Pretty sure? Too much coolant and it will over heat. Coolant can't absorb and efficiently carry as much heat as water.

Did you use distilled water?

Oh. Well, nm then. Does it over heat ON the highway or after you get off the highway and sit at a light? How much driving? Was the thermostat installed correctly? Is the head gasket blown? Is there a coolant leak? Is all the coolant still present?

use the bleeder screw, follow the upper rad hose into the head, and you'll be staring at it.

for some sort of reason i cant find where it is leaking from! when it overheats is when its on the freeway or atleast 20 mins of warm up then going on the freeway then it starts to overheat, and the weather is about 16 degrees here! so cant seem to figure it out

Correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty positive that radiator hoses wouldnt cause overheating unless they are blocked. In which case I believe the radiator would be blocked up first.

There's probably a blockage in the radiator or something. Maybe something got in there?

The radiator hoses can cause overheating if they collapse. Been there.

I didnt really think of that. I guess that depending on the age of the vehicle, the hoses could be deteriorating and could possibly collapse from that? Good thought B serious!

Your heater uses the heat from the coolant to warm up the cabin. The hoses go through the firewall I believe.
