Default Head Gasket Question (Honda Technical Service Bulletin 97-047 )

I have a 93 civic dx that has a leaking head gasket and was wondering do you have to replace it with a special head gasket or is it ok to use something like a felpro. If so do you just reuse the same head bolts or do you still replace them?
Thanks

Default Re: Head Gasket Question (htscottm)

When I rebuilt my 1988 D16A6 with high compression pistons I used an OE Honda metal head gasket from a 96-00 Civic EX rather than the crappy stock 88-91 fiber stock head gasket, and I resued the old head bolts. I torqued the bolts to the 96 head bolt specs since I was using the metal gasket.

Mine has been running 100% perfect and smoke free for 4 years+ now.
