Just bought a black 98 lude with 132,000 miles, timing belt and water pump replaced, clean title, but everytime i drive it around for a bit and turn of the engine theres a nasty clutch smell from the hood, but the tranny works flawlessly. Aslo when I start the engine in the garage, my dad can smell a nasty *** fuel smell from 3 stories above, and so can I from 20 feet away in the garage. I'm stuck.
Please HELP. Thanx

1. Its always a good idea to do a tune up when you get a new car.
Heres what that includes.
New cap and rotor
Spark plugs
Spark plug wires
altenator and battery
air filter
fuel filter
change tranny and engine oil
altnator belt and P.S. belt
2. As for that nasty gas smell, change the O Rings on your fuel injectors. That will help destory the nasty gas smell.
Mine did the same type smell. I spent 20 bucks on new Orings and the smell is gone now.

Don't fix if it ain't broke. It's a 10 year old car. Don't be paranoid, just stick to the basics. Gas smell in the garage is how it's suppose to be. cold engine runs rich which explains the gas smell, I have a 04 TL and it does the same thing, I start it in the garage and the wife can smell it upstairs. Relax! It's a HONDA bro.
