Just did my rear brakes got Question

Default Just did my rear brakes got Question

I just replace my rear brakes ( shoes, hardware, and drums were cut) and i bleed the system, but when i pull up on my e-brake it doesn't grip it as good. i can feel the car move slowly, so do i adjust the cable or the brakes???

adjust the e-brake cable...tighten them down and you should be good.

No, make sure to adjust the starwheel so when you put the drum on (only) and spin it , it should turn about 1 n a half then stop. once both sides are adjusted and the e brake it lookn at the sky then i would adjust the e brake cable...

ohh i adjust the wheelstar but i wasnt sure how much to adjust but ill check it out tomorrow then

just a light drag is fine, you don`t want the shoes grabbing on to the drums hard.
for trucks i use the backward / forward method. When doing this you start off by going backwards and brake to a complete stop, then you go forward and brake to a complete stop.This will have to be repeated 8x to get a good adjustment. If this doesn't work try the next step.

The other method is going backwards and applying the parking brake quickly until the trucks comes to a complete stop. Some people actually said they could hear the click coming from the star wheel adjusting. You may have to repeat this step 8 - 10x to get them adjusted properly.. Also some have found that applying the brakes & not the parking brake works for them. If this method doesn't work then you will have to resort adjusting them manually
