Default picked up a new helmet today, Shoei!

I finally got a new helmet, I have been rocking a plain white HJC for a while and it is time for a change. At first I was planning on getting a HJC AC12 full carbon helmet but came across this helmet and liked it soo much I had to buy it.

It is a Shoei RF-1000 Sever TC-1. I had to get the XXL size because the cheek pads made me feel like my head was being squished. I am planning on geting a gold shield for it or possibly a red one. I like the gold/pink the most tho. It lets in plenty of light at night but is dark enough to keep the sun out during the day.

Congrats on the purchase. Very nice design. You really can't go wrong with SHOEI.

Just wondering though, how tall are you? XXL is really really big. And after the "break-in", it's only going to get bigger.. I bought a large for myself. The thing I didn't take into consideration was my hair though. I'm usually bald. But when I tried mine on, I had some hair on my head and when I shaved it the next day, the helmet became a bit loose but I just wear a ski mask thing over it.. or a "balcava" or whatever you call them.

But anyway, love the new lid, although I am biased.

I am 6'1"

I thought the same thing but for some reason the XL squeezed my cheeks together so much that I could not keep my lips shut. I found the XXL to fit a lot better without constraint. I still have a good squeeze but nothing like the XL.

Nice lid nonetheless. I have the same model, but different design. I love the graphics on yours' though!

How do you guys like the RF-1000 compared to other helmets? I'm looking at picking up a Diabolic 3 for my next lid (first one with graphics). But I may just pick up a solid x-11. I fit better in shoei than arai, and I'm ready to get something with a little better venting than my AGV.

I have had everything from Arai to HJC and honestly the Shoei is one of the best fitting helmets out there. They also have a good warranty against crafstmanship over a lot of other helmets.

I have found that Shoe does a great job of screen venting and venting to the forehead where you need it most in the summertime and in the wintertime to prevent fogging.

Shoei, to me, makes one of the best ones out there.

The X11 vents like you wouldn't believe. On a cold day outside, it feels like your BRAIN is freezing from the venting.

The RF1k vents a little bit less than the X11, but the tradeoff is it is a bit quieter. But, ear plugs are still

Congrats to the OP on the new lid.
